Everybody just take ten steps back from both the Ty Cobb back and the 8.5 CJ Cobb. I'm calling dibs.

Or is it dibbs?

I am amazed by the offerings in the catalog & hope to win a few lots, more if the wife let's me sell the house-not happening.
When I saw the catalog over 3,000, maybe 4,000 T206's being sold...all the T204's etc. etc. .. it did make me wonder:
Is there ever a turn in this hobby where the vast amount of items auctioned brings prices down or the incredible offerings only lead to new collectors and prices going higher. Or it's just the way it is. I guess supply and demand of the hobby intrigue me. I love the supply here & wish the demand was beneficial to my collecting dreams

True there is much more material available via auction these days but at the same time the websites where dealers listed large inventories of cards for, if not reasonable, at least plausible prices, are mostly gone; and the number of true ebay auctions is down as well; so I think the supply overall is probably about the same.

Chuck Norris doesn't need a catalog; what's in the catalog is just what's left after he takes the cards he wants.

REA Catalog was just dropped on my front porch in suburban Chicago! Unfortunately, the weight of the catalog collapsed the porch and now I need to call a concrete contractor.
Then again maybe I'll wait until after the auction ends to make that call. I can always use the back door for awhile!

Default Charles Norris

Who is this Mr. Norris fellow with abnormal abilities that you speak of? Is he employed by REA?

Or perhaps this mysterious man is just a superhero doing what is best for mankind, and specifically, the vintage sports collecting community? Please inform those not privy to this apparently omnipotent being.

I wish that stereotype was correct. Spend a Friday night on Granville Street in Vancouver or Pandora Ave in Victoria or a thousand other burgs across the Great White North at closing time, Alex, and you might revise your estimate. It is true though that after a Canadian breaks a guy's head open he will apologize.

Things have been known to get a little crazy out there in Vancouver, i.e. Canucks playoff loss to the Bruins a few years ago and lets not forget the Canucks playoff loss to the Rangers in 1994.

I think they need to smoke a little more MJ to mellow out a little.

Picked mine up an hour ago--arrived in the office weekend mail. Chock full of goodies as usual. Some neat Negro League items, pinbacks, Diamond Stars display box, Roy Campanella signed items-- I literally just open to a page at random and it takes no time at all to find some great stuff, although that's hardly breaking news.

Imagine my excitement today when I opened the mailbox. A catalog! In Canada, and Vancouver, on the far west coast. What service fromREA, I thought . Trembling with anticipation, and, then, hey, you know what happened next... My Legendary auction catalogs were in the wrapping , long after the auction ended.

LOL - I got the Legendary stuff one month + a day after the auction ended. Legendarily Late.

Cheers,

Agreed, if I counted right, 3 N172s, 2 N173s, & 2 N175s, but a lot of high quality items. Should be a great auction.
