Default T213-T217 Thinly Traded Tobacco Card Series

The 5000+ Trout card thread got me to thinking of the cards we rarely see come up for sale but don't always carry high price tags (relatively speaking). I remember it took me quite a few years to get my first T216 VE. I think the series of Tobacco cards between 213-217 are great to collect. But even this McGraw is only valued at a Post War medium grade Topps HOF card. Sometimes it doesn't make sense to me...this is the same price

As this-

I think its just the design. That McGraw card isn't very inspiring to me. Though there are some real blazers in that set. I'd kill for the Speaker.

I've been looking into the T213s a little bit lately. I didn't realize how scarce the Type 1s are. There is a nice Cobb for $20K on eBay now, though.

I've been eyeing that red Cobb as well. Beautiful card, but $20k...?

Default T213-1

Here's the T206 super-prints with T213-1 backs. Nothing cheap about these guys. I wish these cards were more reasonably priced, then I'd try
for a complete set. Currently, I only have 12 of these rare dudes.

Incidentally, I didn't pay "20K" for my Cobb (it was significantly less then that).

T216's are the exception......you can get a Tobacco card with a Wagner on it.

Great cards Ted and everyone else. I am very slowly trying to get a HOFer from all of these sets and subsets (minus T217 -- I also know Murray isn't in the HOF - future upgrade planned there).

Default T's

I love the New Orleans T-cards. I am trying to put together a type set, but I still have some tough cards that I need. T215-2, Pirates, T214, T216 VE, T213-3 overprint.

I scanned the backs of my 4 T216's. Still need the T216 VE.

Maybe I can find one at the National this year.

The New Orleans type set is: ( I think this is complete)

T211
T213-1
T213-2
T213-3
T213-3 Overprint
T214
T215-1
T215-2
T215 Pirate
T216 Kotton - 3 different backs
T216 Mino
T216 VE
