Default AMERICAN BEAUTY 350 (frame) cards. Let's have some fun showing & talking about them

During the printing of the 350-only Series of the T206 set, American Lithographic included a stylistically framed American Beauty 350 Tobacco advertisement
on the backs of 190 subjects in this Series.

And approx. 23 subjects in the 350-only Series were not printed with the ABF back. Why is this so ? Perhaps, these 23 guys retired (or were traded) during the
period of the 350-only Series press runs (Spring / Summer 1910).

Furthermore, the majority of these AB 350 cards are narrower than the standard T206's, such as Gabby Street shown here. On the other hand, this Davy Jones
card (ABF back) is the standard T206 width. I'm not certain that we have arrived at a logical reason for this difference.

I have these two -- what's left of a well-loved Burns and a (slightly) better Tannehill:

Ted, your Davy Jones has a blue print mark in the upper left that's also found on a few Piedmonts and a SC350/25.

I'd vote that Frame was first.

If I remember right from my research, the cards that have a 350 With Frame, none of those cards have 460 series backs.

For the subjects with a 350 No Frame, all of them (except Nichols Batting) have Cycle 460 backs as well as Piedmont 460/42 backs.

Here are two, Huggins and Strang. I would have guessed I had half a dozen, I must have sold a few, or misplaced them.

Although my AB 350 Matty is quite off-center, I am pleased with it.

That Mathewson has Run the Gamut of graders. The first time it sold it was in a Beckett holder then it was crossed over to the SGC holder and the last two times it sold it was in a PSA holder.

Nope, that PSA is not the same Ted's SGC, just an AB doppelganger. I know because it is mine.

Hi Ian, it's the same card in all three holders. Ted must have sold/traded it and someone had it crossed over to PSA at some point.

Here is my American Beauty (with frame) of Gaavy 'Fatty' Cravath, along with a much more typical slim American Beauty (no frame) example of Doyle, and a regular (or slightly wider than typically seen) Piedmont of Manning for comparison.
