No question for me...Google Drive...Just found out how to embedd the individual images into threads as well...

The images from this thread are being pulled from my Google Drive folder...
http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=246307

I have my entire collection scanned front and back and organized with folders using Google Drive. Accessible on any device...

It is free for a small amount of storage, but just a couple bucks a month you get 100 GB...
https://www.google.com/drive/pricing/

Click on my personal trade folder link in my signature and you will see Google Drive in action...

SideNote: I am not responsible if the NSA periodically looks at your collection...

Google annoyed me when they shut down Picasa. I moved to Flickr, which I have found fairly easy to use and accessible on all my devices.

I have my own website hosted by Yahoo. It is around 13 dollars a month but can do a whole lot of stuff. I only use it for hosting my site and my collection (pictures) though. It is always there and always easy to use. I know there are some good free sites but I am fine with the way I am doing it. And I can list things for sale when I want to and not have to worry about anything changing (like the photobucket debacle). It is very static and that is the way I like it.

There's a list (non-alphabetized, unrated, non-prioritized) of about 75 or 80 alternatives to PhotoBucket here:
https://alternativeto.net/software/photobucket/

We've moved to FlickR -- like packs said, confusing to use at first, but a snap once you figure out the procedure.

Hey, when I started that thread, I had no idea if anyone else had started one, so no worries. You're not wasting anyone's time.

Anyone know of a free or cheap site that includes ftp access with predictable image paths (ie I dump a bunch of sequentially-numbered jpg's from 001.jpg to 099.jpg into an ftp folder, and the site generates linkable images at addresses something like http://www.website.com/thecatspajamas/folder/001.jpg, ....folder/002.jpg, etc) that can then be linked to and embedded in other sites? That's how I used to use photobucket until they first killed the ftp functionality, then scrambled the file names to discourage fusking, then killed the linking ability altogether (unless one ponies up for the top-tier subscription).

For my usual purposes, I need to be able to dump huge numbers of images at a time and generate predictable links that can be used elsewhere. If I have to upload or copy/paste the links one at a time, it ain't happening, regardless of whether the service is free. I couldn't care less if the folders are private.

For my ebay listing, I now have a SimpleStore site that works very well for my ebay listing (thanks Bob!) but it would be good to have something simple for Net54 board posts and the like.

Will Flickr allow me to rotate my pics? I recently downloaded all the images on my cell phone to my desktop and all 384 showed up rotated 90 degrees rotated. My pc won't allow me to rotate them back and am also unable to use Paint to rotate them.

I agree with Steve. Imageevent is great. I haven't tried Flickr, but I don't like that the thumbnails are square. Photobucket, meanwhile, looks truly awful. Here's my site ...

Curious if there are any advantages to ImageEvent over Collector Focus, which is free. CF isn't perfect but seems like a similar layout to ImageEvent.

I went with Flickr (link in my signature) and am happy that I did. It looks slick, is simple to use once you take a few minutes to figure it out, it has a ton of free space, and it displays the images at larger sizes and allows you to zoom in on them more than any other site that I have seen. Flickr also has the option to make individual photos public, shared among only your friends, or private so that only you can see them. The only negative is the square thumbnail images, but they are only square on the album gallery page (i.e., the photo you pick to be the cover of each album) - when you enter an album it displays the full thumbnail.

another vote for imageevent. See my site in my signature line.

I have hidden folders for my own personal stuff and then public folders for your viewing pleasure. I can customize many things and it feels like a website. I pay a little more to get unlimited storage but used the basic plan for many, many years until I finally ran out of space. Most people don't know this, but if you click a photo on imageveent, once the photo appears on your screen, you can select "Medium" or "Original" on the bottom. I believe "Medium" is the default, but if you want to see something really closely, all you have to do is click "Original" and the full super-sized image shows up on the screen.

Also, when posting an image on Net54 or ebay, they have a spot for owners to easily grab the URL and paste into the message board. I assume the other sites have this as well, but it's pretty easy on imageevent. They give you three different sizes to choose from depending on what you're trying to do or based on the image size. For instance, I use "websize" for almost anything I post on here. You can also do "icon" size or simply the original size...

and to a previous post, it's easy to move images from one folder to another and also to rotate a picture. However, when the image is rotated, it will change the file name, so be aware if you have a link to it on Net54 or elsewhere.

My only gripe is that my work computer blocks everything related to any of these websites (flickr, imageevent, etc.).

I seem to have become the de facto spokesman for flickr, so here goes:
When you are looking at your pic, check the lower right part of the page and you will find an "edit" graphic. Click there and it will give you a "rotate" option with three choices represented visually - 90% CW, 90% CCW, or 180%. Click on the one that works for you and then hit the OK (or whatever it says) button. Dat's it.
