Default T206 Prices in new Standard Catalogue

Posted By: Brett Domue

If anyone has looked through the new Standard Catalogue yet, has anyone noticed the sharp increase in the pricing on the T206 Hall of Famers? Granted, I haven't been looking at whatthese sell for recently, but has the market on these really increased this much? $1100 for a Bender pitching with trees? $9000 for a Cobb Green Portrait? I always assumed the prices in the guide were for raw examples, are people really paying these huge premiums for raw cards to get graded? Even the VG prices have skyrocketed, the Green Cobb from $700 to $1800 as an example. Something tells me we'll be seeing a lot of these for sale over the next year...

...the $700 price in the 2002 guide was much more in line. The new price you listed does not accurately reflect the market, either on ebay, auctions, or internet retailers. I hope this is not the case with other t206 HOF'ers in the guide.

Default T206 Prices in new Standard Catalogue

I bought a "vg" t206 green portrait Cobb from KitYoung within the last 12 months and the $700 vg SCD book price was pretty much in line, considering it wasn't actually a vg card. Based on my green KY purchase and the research I did looking for a nicer replacement, I stand by my earlier post.

Scott,
I don't disagree about Cobb pricing, but there are alot of other cards which are undervalued in the set.
Frank Smith Chi&Bos for example, anything over ex or psa 5 goes for a hige number, there just aren't very many. This is just one example of several short prints that are undervalued. I haven't seen the 2003 Scd , but maybe more of the prices are in line versus overstated. later brian
