Default Mets Collectors - ‘81 Jersey #8 - Big Club or Minors?

Thanks for any assistance determining if this is right for the parent club. Don’t see an 8 on the 1981 roster.

Is there room for a nameplate or evidence that one was removed?

Thanks. Room for one, but no evidence of one being removed.

The Mets started using Batting Practice jerseys in 1981, they ordered home pinstripe, road grays and blue jerseys. They decided to use the blues and the others were sent down to the minor leagues to be worn there. I'm 100% sure this is what you have.
