Default Zane Grey--Red Headed Outfield

I have a first edition of this book with dust jacket. It's packed away, so I can't get to it right now. I believe it was published in 1919. The book itself is in very nice condition, hardly any wear, while the DJ has a couple of minor tears along the edges. Any clue as to value?

Jodi

The Red Headed OF first has many different points to determine whether it is a first printing. I have it somewhere around. You can only tell the dust jacket, as the book and its subsequent printings don't indicate the printing. Grosset & Dunlap was normally a reprint house, and this is one of the few books in which it came out as a first.\

That said, the book is quite common, even with a dj. Not much value, unless you can truly identify the dj as a first and find one of the few collectors to whom it would make a difference. Maybe $30 to $50

Here's a dj from a later printing of the Short-stop. I'll try and find a scan of the Redheaded OF and post it

Thanks for the info. I paid $20 for it perhaps 15 years ago, so, although it won't allow me to retire, at least I'm still ahead of the game.

I would love to find an autograph of Zane Grey from his playing days. If I recall correctly, he played under the name of "Pearl Zane" during part of that time.
