Default SCG grading and autographed cards.

Posted By: Ken McMillan

Hello,

A quick stupid question. I have a Ernie Banks card that I had signed at Fantasy camp last week. I know that the signiature is authentic as I personally obtained it, But I was wondering if SCG grades autographed cards, or is there a better way to display the card. I like the look of graded cards and have no intention of selling the card as Ernie was my boyhood hero. Suggestions?

Ken

SGC grades autographed cards but I believe only as authentic and not a numerical value. Not positive but JSA authenticates the signature and then SGC seals it. PSA started putting a numerical grade on these cards and sure SGC will proly follow suit.

SGC will put a numerical grade on your autographed card if you write "numerical grade" (conspicuously) on the invoice in the "comments" field. No extra charge.

SGC, PSA and GAI all reputably entomb autographed cards, so you can take your pick.
SGC uses James Spence Authentication for autographs, while PSA & GAI have in house
autograph guys.
