Default Buy/Sell/Trade (VBC Appreciation Month) - September 2004

Posted By: Bill Cornell

Please read before you post!

My thanks again to everyone who contributed to the VBC bill: the donations easily covered a full year's bill and more.

I'm taking the liberty of declaring this September "VBC Forum Month". 3 years ago, on 9/13/01, Elliot started it to replace the Fullcount board. His generous effort helped the hobby's best forum to grow to today's numbers: 8,000 page views and 600 unique visitors daily, both more than double what we had only a year ago. If you enjoy the forum, please let others know and we'll have 3 more great years.

Bill

Looking for groups of low grade cards. Only condition requirement is no heavy crease thru the face and the name on the card be legible.

Jay

I like to sit outside, drink beer and yell at people. If I did this at home I would be arrested, so I go to baseball games and fit right in.

I'm still looking for 1933 World Wide Gum #s 28, 42, 54, 58, 62, 67, 73, 88, 91, and 94 in EX or better. I'm also working on what I call my "$10 T207 set" - I'm trying to spend around ten dollars per card, and so far I've picked up 42 for $380, thanks to eBay and Andy. I'm happy to buy anything that would be at home in an SGC 10 holder, and of course I'd pay for for low-grade toughies and HOFs.

Thanks!
Geoff

Thanks for hosting a great site! VBC is easily the best place on the Internet to discuss vintage baseball in specific and the sport in general. My knowledge of, and appreciation for, the early roots of baseball has genuinely grown because of VBC.

Now, the good stuff. I'm looking for the following at the moment:

*c. 1910 Hal Chase "A Fan For A Fan"

*1907 Chicago Cubs composite team postcard with pennant attached

*1910 Detroit Tigers "Flag Raising" team postcard

I'm also always looking for vintage and rare pinbacks (no pm10's though).

Please e-mail me at aaron1050@aol.com if you have any of these items for sale or can point me in the direction of someone who does.

Thanks!

Once again another newbie joins the posting ranks. I'm looking for those wanting to trade caramel cards, especially e93, e95, e96 and e106. I take pretty much anything and lower grades are just fine with me. My website is http://www.freewebs.com/trib01vintage
It is not quite done yet so bare with me.
Thanks all

Looking to buy or trade for any e107 Hall of Famers. Will pay very generously and even include a "finder's fee" to anyone who can point me in the right direction. Tradewise, I have a number of rare types I can trade in return such as an Allegheny, a Ju Ju Drum, Home Run Kisses, t222 HOFers or even other e107s. A link to my site where all these are is below. With Sloate and Robert Edward Auctions coming up, I know SOMEBODY out there could use some extra coinage.

Aside from those, I'd also looking for m116 Black & White Proofs or Blank Back cards. I'd like at least one of each as a "type".

Thanks guys,
Brian

The latest mini-auction closes tomorrow, Friday, September 3rd at 10:00 pm Eastern time with a 15-minute rule.

There's still time to register and bid.

It's a small "In-between" auction with affordable Cuban and Puerto Rican cards. Opening bids are well below normal selling prices. Should be some good deals.

Here's a link to the auction: http://www.cubanbaseballauctions.com

Here's a link to register: http://www.cubanbaseballauctions.com/users/useradd.asp

Good luck!
