Default Photo id help

I asked for some help with id-ing this photo in the pickup thread that has since been locked. Is it just a repro, or do I actually have something here?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

It measures 8x10" with a glossy finish and has a blank back.

Edited to make title more specific.

Hi

I suggest you re do the title so the resident photo expert can see it.

It appears to be a 1910's type photo of Walter Johnson to me.

A few guys here are experts. They should be able to help.

I don't think it's a repro,

Steve

Thanks for the response Steve.

I assume that since nobody else has followed up that Steve hit the nail on the head.

I was thinking that if it was period, it might be some type of premium.

Anyone have any idea on value? Its not really something that I collect, so I have no clue.

My guess is that the photo was printed long after Johnson's career ended. If I search on eBay for a specific Hall of Famer's photos, I often come across 8x10 B&W glossies with virtually the same font in white used for the player's name, and they rarely are selling for much. I'm guessing the photo came from the 1950s. I don't believe it's a modern print.

I hope I'm wrong and you have a vintage photo ...

I want to apologize. I didn't follow the same advice I would have given, which to check Ebay. This appears to a popular print given the number available. Mine definitely wasn't produced yesterday, as the paper has some age to it. It is, however, likely a reprint from the same negative these came from...
