Thanks - I'm enjoying the set. I just noticed one of Dots' hole punches is in a precarious position. This post may be NSFW.

Three 3 recent pick ups raised my Kraken number to 15. Please update my status Brian. I should have some more coming soon as well so I can't wait to get them.

Being that if I had to account for missing pieces, I would have to reduce my own Kraken number by a fair amount, I officially deem that Andy's number is a full 15.

Another nice pickup on the Shean...your Kraken # will be jacked up to the appropriate level.

In the Kraken world, reaching the 60% plateau is nothing to sneeze at...congrats. I should know, as it has taken me decades to just barely cross this threshold.

Put me on the board at a whopping 5. I'll keep company with Frank and Leon.

I'll slot you in at the 5 level. Just remember, Frank will never have the opportunity to catch up to you, because his Kraken number, as indicated on the list, is never subject to change.

Brian (just kidding...Frank's Kraken number can be changed, but he has to vow never to post images of washed up dead things from the sea on the thread again)

Hi Brian! Pretty new to Net 54, joining late last year. Just wanted to post what I have thus far. I LOVE the e-90 cards. Only 13 to date, but a few big names and toughies. Most are SGC graded. As you can see, I prefer to present them in a binder. I think they look good!

Nice consistent looking E-Monster group. I come up with a Kraken number of 16, and will add you to the list...in case for some reason you don't want to be on the list, let me know, and I will extract your info from it.

Nice looking cards, with a few toughies, for a good start. I like the E90-1's lithography but am just not really a set collector. I might end up getting a few more just because...

Thanks, Leon. I try to obtain affordable ones in respectable condition when the opportunity arises. Trying to find these cards centered and with decent eye appeal can be a challenge. I love the images though. I think they are beautiful and really bring the dead ball era to life.

Welcome aboard Larry, a representative will be by shortly to confirm your Kraken number...just kidding. I will squeeze you in at the appropriate spot, and may your number rise in the future.

Default Dry

The Kraken has been left in the deep sea it would appear.
It’s been awhile since I’ve added one .
I have a lot of tougher ones that I seek, but a few lower Kraken values too.

Where do we find these beasts?

Default bump my Kraken

It's been a slow climb, but I can add 1 more point to my total.
I've added Ira Thomas to join friend Roy Thomas (he of the Picasso Portrayal)

If you have the chance, oh Kraken Kounter, I'll be at 134

Haven't added to my E90-1 set in a little while but did pick up this interesting looking one a little while ago. You don't see a ton of E90-1 scraps out there but I believe this one qualifies. The borders from left to right are jumbo-sized, it has a hand-cut bottom border, and that's on top of the color shift from the top down.

Congrats Brian...I have included a scan of the Picasso cubism style employed on the Roy, just as a reminder that all is not realism in the Kraken world.

Updated to 134!

I like the blue aura Howell is giving off.

Thanks, Brian - didn't realize but I've actually added a few cards since my last count. Up to 82 different cards in all and my new number is 96. This Marquard just came in this week and is my latest one.

Thanks, Andy - given what the HOFers are starting to go for, I figured that was about as cheap as I was going to get it for. My snipe was set a good bit higher.

Reviving this - please bump me to 155, having added me. Sweeney to the collection. Thanks

155 is definitely working up all the way to head of the Kraken itself.

You can see them in the May pick up thread. I am away from my computer or I would post them here, too.

Nothing wrong with getting some desirable ones right at the start.

Purchased a couple of low grade commons today. Puts my number at a whopping 14! I blame this thread for sucking me into loving this set.
In case I start having trouble finding low grade raw commons, do any of you guys building this set ever buy low grade slabbed E90-1s and crack them out for the binder? With the exception of a few of the big boys, that's what I would like.

I actually keep them in the graded slabs or have them graded by SGC if they aren't already..mostly because I like how these colorful cards look in the black slabs. I put the slabs in 4 pocket pages and keep them in binders. I know, takes up a lot of room, but man do they look good!

Default Big boost

Mr Kraken Keeper,
I was able to acquire 4 more cards from my E90-1 Hero , Cory.

They are not just the single point variety either.

Please add Bill Sweeney, Cy Young (Cleveland) , McLean and Shean to my tally.
Some tough buggers in that group!

Big thanks to Cory, I’m really thinking I might be able to get near 200 someday.
That’s my goal...since the whole Kraken isn’t likely to happen.

My Kraken is now 150.

Always glad to have had a small part of sucking another victim down into the depths of Davy Jones Locker. Enjoy all the creatures lurking down there!

Congrats on all the toughies, including the elusive rhyming McLean and Shean. They are pretty darn tough. Update in process!
