Default 1931 Rockne HB Book / Autographed James "Rip" Collins

Posted By: Jerry

A few Years ago I had the Priviledge of Purchasing some books from the Personal Collection of James "Rip" Collins the famed 1st baseman of St. Louis Cardinals 1930's Gas House Gang. Most of the books just had his rubber stamp on them but this particular book was signed and dated by him personally on one of the cover pages. The Book is Rockne "Idol of American Football" First edition 1931. Book is in excellent condition with just some toning to the pages. The dustjacket is missing the spine portion. The Autograph is Impeccable.
I have a few other old books with his stamp on them if your interestd.
Great item for a Gas House Gang Collector.

Side Note: Year of Autograph was to be Ripper's best year offensively of his carrer. He led the league in Homers with 35, drove in 128 Runs, batted .333, He hit 367 in the world series leading the Gas House Gang to a world's Championship.
