So much for vintage or prewar....

The anticipated turnaround time is also four months.

SGC’s price is $10.00 lower ($30.00) and the turnaround time is only approximately 30 days.

I simply don't have any vintage......and $30 is still too steep for me.

PSA is taking back any idea of people sending modern to SGC. Smart move PSA.

I feel like our Swingin' 60's sub should be renamed the "Alexander Solzhenitsyn" sub, old timers will get my reference.

The 1996 cutoff is a bit surprising, for sure.

They’re likely making sure customers look to PSA for grading new product releases. Keep ‘em sending in those Prizm base rookie cards…

I don't collect cards from 1996 to 2022 so I'm curious about how many cards from those years would have a value of at least $499 which is a stated requirement for submission through the Value Service.

Its not a value of at least $499,
$499 is the limit of value you can send.

Thanks for the clarification. I've never sent anything for grading and am not familiar with the process so I read it as a minimum value not a maximum.

-edit- Oops...misunderstood your comment as why it would be worth $499+ rather than a min/max value thing.

One of 10+ colored borders with a number stamped on it makes the card worth 100s-1000s these days.

I don't mess with much new stuff, but this is how it works. A lot of people are excited to get "hot boxes" with colored borders of short prints more than they're excited to get a certified autograph card.

Not passing judgement, but I'm not a huge fan. I don't open a lot of new stuff, but I sell or trade almost everything that's elevated in value because they put a different border on the card and stamped a number on it.
