Default original hartland statue question?

Posted By: marty quinn

i have a question regarding my original hartlands, all of mine are complete with no broken parts or repairs, the question is regarding the toe plates and pitching rubber like the one on my drysdale, i know they make repro's of these along with the bats, the bats are easily spotted from the originals, the toe plates and rubbers are attached to the statue, if done right it would be impossible to tell if they are repro or not? does anybody know a certain flaw or color change or maybe even size, that would allow me to tell i have a 100% original hartland? thanks for the help .....marty

Default original hartland statue question?

Well, there are a number of ways to tell. First, the color is usually more stark white on the repro parts. The original toe plates and pitching rubbers are creamier and have more depth to the color. If you compare them side-by-side, you can easily tell.

Second, the Drysdale Rubber is not the same shape. The corners are more rounded and the rubber is a bit wider. It is easy to determine the repro pitching rubber.

Third, the purple (or plum colored) toe plates are a sign that the piece is original. I am only aware of the white replacements. Has anyone else heard of any replacement purple toe plates?

Lastly.... look for an original or previous outline of the foot on the toeplate. If the toeplate has another (second) footprint outline, it may have been re-attached at some point.

Hope this info is helpful...

Also... forgot to mention... your Drysdale and Williams Statues (pictured above) appear to both be all-original
