Default Babe Ruth signature discovered on ball I was authenticating...Opinions?

Hey guys, I was authenticating this 1920's Spalding International League Ball last night, and while I was examining the leather panels I came across a faded signature. I knew instantly who it was, The "Babe" Ruth signature is pretty faded but definitely discernible. Opinions before I send it out? Lucky client, bought it for peanuts on eBay, and ends up with a Ruth! (tougher to see in the photo now that I post it, but it is visible in person).

Nice ball and the signature is discernible and appears authentic IMHO.

This was on eBay? Did the seller not take a photo of this side? You can tell that's a Ruth if you look for 2 seconds.

Default Still plenty of uknowing ebay sellers . . .

.

. . . that only post one, or just afew images of the various panels of a baseball. Perhaps this particular seller felt that an image showing the "smudgy" faded signature might take away from the price realized. Honest oversight, you know ;-)

That makes my head hurt, and also makes me angry at myself for not finding the ball the bidding on it. 20/20 hindsight you know.

I think it originally sold about a year ago. I guess when you're concentrating on the logos of the ball, everything else just gets ignored. The owner is a lucky guy, He got himself a $300 Ruth.
