Default How many HOF cards will soon be in a PRO Holder?

Posted By: Lance

I can't believe what just happened. If this card isn't trimmed, it is probably a 3 at best. I have two cards running that have nicer corners, no wrinkle/creases, and won't come close to the final sale price. I just feel bad for the unlucky sole who just lost $1000.00.

I saw that card and was surpised when it got over 1k.  I figured it would go for the price of an AUTH card...

Can one be confident that a card in a PRO holder is authentic?

i'd trust pro graded cards to be authentic in most cases...albeit trimmed/altered/super overgraded.

Take a look at the comments in the feedback: somewhat discouraging.

Though I haven't followed recently, from what I saw in past years PRO appeared reliable about holdering authentic cards.

IMO the most valuable part of these holders is the price that recycled plastic can bring.

I think PRO is good when it comes to only slabbing authentic cards, their problem is that they will grade incredibly trimmed cards and give them numerical numbers. I have a caramel card which I sent in on a lark a few years ago and it is very trimmed on top and came back EX.
If I bid on a PRO card (rarely do it), I will only bid what I think the card would bring in an SGC authentic holder.

While I do agree both companies value lies in the cost of recycled plastic, at least CSA made an attempt in the early days to be legit.

I recently crossed the last of my CSA red label tombs to SGC and they all crossed at .5 to 1 grade lower. This Cobb PRO card if not altered is at least 5 grades lower then the number. Mercy.

I do not even look at PRO because they are a joke but if I was looking at a super rare card in authentic that I had not seen in years and years then maybe...Nah, I would still probably pass.
