Default New autograph pick up...but what is it on? Need Help

I recently bought this autograph of Harry Wolter. I'm not doubting the authenticity of the autograph but I'm not exactly sure what it is on. It doesn't appear to be a check issued by the team, but it could be a receipt the player had to sign when picking up his check?

Wolter only played four games for Cincinnati in 1907 and this was dated that next month.

Love to get your opinions on what you think it is.

These are all good, that said-there is debate that these were stolen from Hermann Archive at the Hall of Fame.

For what it's worth, I spent a couple of weeks going through much of that archive several years ago and don't recall seeing even one of these receipts. That's not to say that any receipts in their possession weren't kept elsewhere, separate from the correspondence.

Default Cincinnati Reds payment receipts

It's certainly true that the Reds did issue these payment receipts at the turn of the century. I've owned this receipt for 15+ years and I have seen a few others through the years. They had to sign these in order to get paid.

Here is one signed by Frank "Noodles" Hahn from 1903.
Noodles Hahn pitched the 1st no-hitter in the 20th century.

I hope this helps!

Here’s another for Jean Dubuc. I have always Seen these referred to as “payment vouchers”.

It's a receipt. (And I sold it to the guy you bought it from.)
