My Thanks to all of you knowledgeable folks out there. I've learned more about the Mono card in a few days than I would have in 10 years.

Below is a scan of the card. It's all there but has front tears in two places that don't quite fit back in propertly, soft corners, etc...

I'm thinking of having it slabbed by PSA just to verify that it's authentic for future sale, probably lucky to get a "1". Any thoughts out there about this ?

Thanks in advance - Jack

They have more knowledge of, and are generally more respected by much of the vintage card community (especially the rarer issues and cards that are "collector" grade)

You will only get an SGC 10 on that card (or 1) from PSA, I believe. IF it makes you sleep a little better at night I say do it. Make sure you smell it before it gets entombed though. I think I have a nose fetish or something but some cards actually have peculiar smells to them. I have had a few lower grade cards slabbed and am happy with them. Marc is right on the company though.....SGC will do a better job for you and their holders look much better....Your card looks fine to me from the scan and I would expect no problem with the grading.......great "type" card....if you ever want to sell it my email is here......best regards

I would choose SGC too.

For me though it is just because I consider them the lesser of the two evils.

Overall a nice card. Thanks for the image.

Pete

They just "framed" an N266 for me (first one they ever did) and it looks great. Contact them first, though, to make sure that they know it is coming and will grade it. I find this is sometimes useful for a rare issue that they may not have handled before.

PSA sucks when it comes to cards like this; if the teeny bopper grader even knows what the card is, you will very likely get a card in a "condom" (a plastic sleeve inside the holder) because they can't custom size their holders.
