Default This is NOT an Investment Thread!

The PSA-9 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle, double-print, non-rookie card is now up to $2.1M without the juice with 15 hours to go in the Heritage Auction.

The PSA Pop report shows six of these bad boys exist...and three PSA-10s.

If and when one of those three 10s comes up for auction, what would be your guess at the winning bid?

I'll start us off by guessing...the GNP of Monaco.

Have been to Monaco a few times. Their GNP is not large but they probably have more people there that could afford this and the other 9 and 10 Mantles than anywhere else in the world. Densest and wealthiest population anywhere. Their wealth is in their tax haven seeking residents.

But baseball is not big there 😀...and recommend you do not visit just before or after the race if you want to see it at it's best.... unless you are there for the race

Yes, buyers galore here for your high grade Mantles, but not a stadium in site, which would displace a significant percentage of the population if it was there.

After 2 PM though, if you want to mingle with deep pockets and sell your high grade Mantle, go here.

And if you are going for the race, do not stand here,

Oops, wrong thread. belongs in Net54 around the world.

I would bet whoever bought a PSA10 Mantle years ago, was probably told they paid way too much at the time. It looks like they'll get the last laugh.

There is no baseball in Monaco because if you hit a home run out of the park, it'll land in either another country (France) or the Mediterranean. They'd run out of balls quickly.

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.

Plus the field would have to be on a 25 % grade or higher , and would cost about a billion or more just for the land 😊

My family had a chance to visit Monaco on a recent Med cruise. There is a soccer (football if you must be proper) stadium there though. Great place to feel extremely poor.

I was in the UK a couple of summers ago, and went to a couple of games. Chelsea home opener, and a Man City Champions League game. You cannot bring a beer into the seating area, and have to down them before the game and at the half. But there is all sorts of in-stadium places to bet. And not just on current or other games, but all sports of prop bets (first goal, next goal, player and team betting). Quite the cultural eye opener.
