Default Bobby Doerr RC Question:

I've seen listings saying 1936, but the Krauss Standard Catalog lists it as 1937 Goudey Wide Pen Premiums- Type 4.

Are they being mislabeled by the third-party graders or what?

once thought to be from 1936...more recent flips on both PSA and SGC correctly identify it as being issued in 1937 (Type 4). The older flips for both companies incorrectly identified it as 1936.

Default Derek is correct

That set is definitely 1937. And definitely Doerr’s rookie card.

+1

I have a few PSA graded Bobby Doerr Type 4's with both 1936 and 1937 flips. The correct year should be 1937, his actual rookie season. He was still a San Diego Padre in the PCL in 1936.

I know it's not his rookie but I always liked his '38 Goudey card and had one in my first collection.
