They can ask what they want to for a card but did someone actually pay that? For the record I have seen crazy prices PAID on some of the new cards though to those people we are probably the ones who are crazy....regards |

The economic reasons that a piece of cardboard with a baseball players likeness on it has some material value is the same for Joba as it is for Joss. The pre-war crowd finds the Joba stuff ridiculous; the shiny crap collectors find the Joss stuff unappealing. The same principles of supply and demand apply for both. |

Dennis, what has Joba done in the baseball world you ask? He helped pitch Nebraska to their one and only College World Series victory! That has to count for something. |

FWIW the seller of this card is not some kid or anonymous crazy ebayer, it's a dealer in Arkansas who sells a lot of baseball photographs. He sold off the Matty McIntyre photos a few years back. |

Check that box score again--it was an unearned run (on ARod's throwing error). The man's ERA is still 0.00 over his short and illustrious career. |

Hmmm....ESPN was wrong this morning. Or perhaps I just heard them wrong as he gave up his first run? Don't know, I was trying to get my kid ready for school when I heard it. |
