Thanks JimB, Jim R and Tim.

Jim B- Always enjoy seeing a part of your wonderful collection. Leon should make you post at least one of your caramel cards everyday.

Jim R- Great SLers, but those Baltimore BL's are something special. Great stuff.

Tim- Amazing Boston team set.

Brian W.- Your the tough back king and those Hindus are great, but I want to see that Evers Drum again!!!

Great thread.

Default Are you kidding me ? Incredible Eye Candy...

Tim - Superb Thread idea and a awesome run you have going ! This thread is right in the sweet spot. Many great subsets on here....

Jim - You need to post more. Great SL run !

Rob M. - That Coupon Type 1 run is a lifetime in the making. Phenominal.

Ted & Brian - keep the scans coming... Some real toughies - Nice job !

Rob D. & Mike - I never get tired of seeing your endless supply chain of Lajoie's and Evers cards. (Mike - that is the first time I believe I have seen the whole lot of Evers in one scan, cleanly cropped, etc. -- I love that Scan.)

Geez Guys... I spent 15 minutes enjoying this thread, have to get back to work, but will return to see more eye candy this evening.

Thanks again for posting and this is why I collect.

This thread is inspiring. I think I might have to pursue one of these back variation sets.

You guys are waaaasy more knowledgable than me. If I was to go after a Brooklyn player with a lot of back combos, who would he be?

Thanks in advance.

Geordie,

You might find this tool useful:

http://www.t206resource.com/Checklist.html

You can enter any T206 player (along with other search terms) and get a result that lists all of the confirmed front-back combinations.

Quick research narrowed my future back collection to five players:

Burch fielding (18 confirmed backs), Jordan batting (18), McIntyre Bkln/Chi (16), Rucker throwing (19) and Wilhelm with bat (16)

I chose these because of a good variety of back possibilities and because I like the way the cards themselves look. Need to do some more research on how tough certain backs are, plus the affordability of the players themselves.

Burch (fielding), Jordan (batting), and Wilhelm (with bat) will be tough to find with AMERICAN BEAUTY 460 and UZIT backs.

McIntyre (Bkln/Chi) and Rucker (throwing) will be tough to find with BROAD LEAF 460 and Red HINDU backs.

Good luck,

When I first started collecting T206s, my goal was to put a Cleveland team set together.

One of the first thing I noticed was that the majority of Easterly cards had a Piedmont 350 back. So whenever I found an Easterly with a back other than a Piedmont 350, I bought it.

So far I've got 6 Easterlys with different backs.

Piedmont 350
Sweet Caporal 350
Tolstoi
Polar Bear
Old Mill
EPDG

The Tolstoi is by far my favorite. I bought it on a whim, thinking that I would upgrade it in the future. That was 5 years ago and I've not seen another.

Wish I could post a front/back grouping like others have, but I'm not very computer suave.

Default Beck

very nice run of Becks. That blank is killer. I have 3 Baltimore blank backs so I know how cool it is to land these for your Boston collection. Very few and far between.
Nice clean example too. How many blank Bostons do you have?

Beck is cool but your Herzog run is my favorite. thanks for posting, this thread is killer

Thanks Chris. It was a recent addition.

Jim-That's my only blank-back. I've never made owning one a priority, but things lined up right and a hobby friend was again a big help in adding another tough card to my collection.

they are special Tim and technically the Mattern proof is blank backed.

so 1 blank back and 1 proof. I have never owned a proof. That Boston collection you have gathered over the years is amazing, thanks for sharing.

I guess if the Baltimore proof ever shows up I better take out a second mortgage.

edit to ad, I really love the cut on the Beck, clearly showing it is not a factory cut

Jason

I hope you get there too but the asking price for the 2 on ebay wont help you any. I only have one, the Thebo and got it for less than 100 on a straight ebay auction.

If the series 3 cards are 100 or 200 dollar cards the orange version should probably be double or at best triple. I could see 3 or 400 but not 600 or 1000.

good luck and glad I only needed one.

nice orange set Jeremy

Yes the 2 on Ebay are a little too expensive for me.Luckily I have a Johnston already and the Slaven seems to be one of the more available OB's so I'm sure another will come up.It will be slow going but a fun chase.

Default Dougherty

Great T210's, Jeremy. Keep it going everyone.

---------------

Nothing too spectacular for me on this run yet, but have started a Dougherty run because I already had a T215-2 and this card has a lot of possible combinations...

This has been a most impressive thread. I'm amazed at the number of back runs completed, in progress, etc, and love to see the variety of players covered. Huge props to everyone that's shared.

Six or seven years ago I started a Gibson back run, got to 9 different and became frustrated when I couldn't even confirm a Hindu. I ended up selling that collection, and it was completed by Mike Frohme (See post #32). I was as excited for him when he did it as I would have been if it was me.

Over the past year and a bit I've re-acquired some of my original T206 Gibsons, and even had a chance to buy a Hindu...so as of last week that complete T206 Gibson run resides in my collection. I'm now working a bit past the basic run to try and add some freaks, and a couple of (super tough) non-T206s that share the same image.

So for anyone that's interested, check out this gallery I setup on CF over the weekend. I've probably accounted for 100 hits to this page just since Saturday....

Again, great collections everyone!

Regards,

Richard.

Man that is cool! So, besides Broad Leaf and American Beauty, which other tobacco brands do you have with the Baltimore crew? I am pretty sure there are not many people who have runs of Baltimore like yours. Too cool Mr. Rivera. Thank you for sharing.

This is one of the coolest threads I have seen thus far.

Derek
