Default T206 back variation price premiums

Is there a standardized price multiplier for the different T206 backs? For instance, Sweet Caporal back start 1.0 Would a Polar Bear back be worth 10 percent more, or 1.1. Maybe a Uzit near 2.0 or double. Does Old Mill carry a premium? How do the different back variations rank accordingly, easiest to toughest ? Thanks.

I don't know that this is the most reliable..seems back prices can get on swings pretty quickly..but this may be a guide for you..

By the way Steve...if you can get a UZIT back for twice what a Piedmont or Sweet Caporal goes for...I'll buy those from you all day long...I have to beat Michael to the punch on that kind of a deal...LOL

I just looked at the chart at the T206 Museum and the Cobb back has a multiplier of 1. That puts it at the same level as Sweet Cap and Piedmont. Think it's a typo?

Barry...
I think they have it listed as 1 simply because they can't really put a price on it, and there is only the 1 card. Hell, nevermind I don't know why they have it listed as 1...lol

Michael,
I'm "fairly" certain if someone started listing UZIT's in the B/S/T in a PSA 4 for $125 (2x multiplier) you'd probably be inclined to pick them up....no? ha ha

PSA 4 Uzit for $125, heheheh. Only in my dreams. I would buy up PSA 4's for many multiples of the $125 price tag!

Barry,
If you click on the base price page, they list the Ty Cobb back red portrait separately and with a base price of 30k.

Jim- now that I think of it, all the prices are based on commons with various backs. Since the Cobb back has a Ty Cobb front, it wouldn't apply. You see, another reason why it is an anomaly

Thanks for the link to the T206 back multipliers. Please check my logic here - Example: T206 Cobb red PSA 5, Piedmont back = $2000. Then according to multiplier tables, a Cobb fits into the "special multiplier" column. If it had a Carolina Brights back, multiplier is 3, therefore a $6000. card. Correct ? Hmmm, do these odd backs really bump a $2000. Cobb into a true $6000. Cobb card ?

Not every front/back combination applies. There are 520 cards in the set and some will be worth more or less than the posted multiplier.

One of the high grade collectors could be more accurate in answering you. But I think yes...Carolina Bright's from what I've seen have been going a little more than what the multiplier on that page lists them at...at least from what I've noticed.

I have a bunch of T206 HOF'ers mostly in PSA 5 - all in the safe deposit box - Gotta get 'em all out, see what backs they are. Don't know why, but I never paid much attention to the backs. It'll be kinda like Christmas when I go to the box !

slow down guys...

as discussed in detail in previous threads...

a large majority of us feel that a T206 common back multiplier should not necessarily just be applied to a HOFer...they go for less. maybe some of the other guys could better illustrate that.

but to answer your question a PSA 5 Cobb Carolina Brights back should not command $6000...maybe $4-5K?

Back from safe deposit box I am - jeez, no odd backs, no fortune found. Out of 14 T206 HOF'ers in PSA 5 & 6: 1 Polar Bear factory 6, 1 Old Mill factory 25, the rest just basic Sweet Cap's and Piedmont factory 25's.
