Default L.A. Dodgers Mini-Nodder

Posted By: andypcl

Hi,

I just aquired this neat mini-bobblehead and am wondering if anyone can help me with relative scarcity/value of it. The last picture shows two other styles that I found online (not mine). The seller of mine said he thought it was one of the more scarce variations. Any bobblehead guys out there with some information?
Thanks,
-Andy

Andy:

Yours is called the "Moonface" variation, and is the best of the 3 styles. Collectors typically pay about 25 - 30% more for the moonface varieties.

They are generally rarer, and many people (including myself) think they are the best looking. They sort of capture the essence of Davey and Goliath, if you remember that show... and from the same era as well.

This was a nice pickup... I know the Dodgers in particular is tough to find with the moonface. Others like Athletics, Yankees and White Sox tend to be a bit more prevalent. These "moonface" varieties were only seen on the minis... not the full-sized dolls. Hope this helps, and congrats on a nice pickup!

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the quick feedback - as you can tell, I don't know a whole lot about these little guys. I agree with ya' though, it's a good looking style.

The Dodger mini regular version is one of the more plentiful mini's and lists for $100-$150, depending on condition. The moonface variation, however, is more scarce and would command a premium of perhaps 30-40%, or possibly more for one in mint condition. There are moonface collectors out there.
