Default '31-'32 Exhibits Tough???

Posted By: Steve Lipe

why are the 1931-32 4 on 1 Exhibit cards so hard to find. It seems everytime I pick up a card magazine there is someone who is the "expert" on Exhibits and "has the market cornered". Just curious...thanks for listening

My understanding is (and my personal experience indicates) that the 1931-2 Exhibit 4/1 are the 2nd toughest set of the Exhibit 4/1's. The 1933's are the toughest of all.

I'm still looking for a 1933 Exhibit 4/1 with Grove, Cochrane, Foxx and Simmons if anyone happens to have one that they'd be willing to part with.

Boxing, entertainment, 1932 Olympics, etc. My guess is that the Depression was at its worst and it really cut into sales. That combined with the paper recycling drives of WWII, which would have come at a time when your kids of 1931 were around their late teens and really would not have cared about their cards, and I think the issues were smaller and many were destroyed.
