Default Cut Cobb T206

Hi Not sure if anyone has seen this yet. I was just wondering,(not looking to buy it at all) but if a card that has been cut into a shape like this has any value at all. Granted it is a Cobb T206 that was probally cut and put in a scrap book or some other kind of decorative use. But other than that what use is it... I would think a fraction of his buy it now would seem like a fair value. Just wondering is all...

that's the "jay behren" cut (made popular by rman)...and i agree with your speculation on fair value for the card.

Just my opinion, but I would think about 1% of book would be a very generous offer. Of course this one has the rare "can Be" back.

It has value if a buyer would want it and would enjoy it...but virtually no value as an investment.

Default I think y'all are off here...

This card is much more interesting and entertaining than a typical 1 or auth. There is value to that. Maybe not as much as a 1 or auth, but value nonetheless.......

1% of book value, generous? I think it'll bring a little more than that.

Do you think 2% of book value would get the deal done?

I'd swap him the Boston Garter Baker, make him an offer he can't refuse.

i picked up a fairly presentable green background cobb at $285 off this board a while back. It had had a pull on the front that was glued back in place. It looks nice but a grading company had rejected it due to "restoration." Thought it was a good deal...looks as good as a $2000 one...but I realize I'll probably do well to get my money back on it if I decide to sell it...which I think is unlikely. I am putting together a low grade t206 set, it fits right in.

Looks like he cut out the part of the card that is easiest to tell whether it is a fake or not......the lettering and the edges. I have a '52 Mantle that looks just like this. I trimmed around the lettering and edges because they were "ugly"......any takers?

Default cobb

anthony s., i must say that i doubt the authenticity of your Cobb.
i used my blacklight on it--via the computer--and the area where Cobb's portrait would've been shines much too glossy--much like the glossy of the
Cobb with Cobb back.
forgive me if this knowledge offends you.

best,
barry

I saw it and I kind of like it. I think its market value is between 70-80$ although an item like that could surprise us.
