Default Dating Mays Photo

Mays is in a New York Giants home uniform, but this is not the Polo Grounds. Bunting in the background suggests an All Star Game. During his time in New York, Mays made the All Star Team in 1954-1957.

National League sites for those years were Milwaukee in 1955 and St. Louis in 1957. I would focus on trying to look at images of those parks for those All Star Games and see if you can match the backdrop. That might enable you to date the photo.

Based on the uniform, cannot be '51 but could be anytime from '52 - '57, home uniforms were identical for every year during that period.

From looking at some photos (but not of the A.S. games), looks very much like it could be Milwaukee's County Stadium.

That is Milwaukee county stadium and the other player looks like a Milwaukee uniform. Milwaukee is the only National league team in 1955 to wear a logo on the sleeve.
