Some notes from the last Philly Show at Fort Washington, PA.

Regular Forum54 members that dropped by my booth to chat and do some business:

Seth B, Brian, Kevin Cummings, Lyle Jobe, Don Johnson, Jay Miller, Scott Moseley,
Tim Newcomb, Mike Peich, Patrick Priest, Mark Rios, Jim Rivera, Kevin Savage,
John Spencer, and Alan (Jewish Collector).

Also, 6 avid "readers", who I had some great "talking Baseball" (cards) conver-
sations with.

I finally got my T206 Demmitt & O'Hara (both St Louis) graded by GAI; and,
really enjoyed the customer responses that I received on them Sat. and Sunday.

I could write an interesting short story on the various tales and offers I
received on these two cards. But, finally on Sunday, I parted with them. The
Demmitt was sold to a good friend who needed him to complete his 520 card set.
And, the O'Hara at the very end of the show to a guy who said that now his set
was complete with 522 cards (no Wagner or Doyle error).

Also, I always enjoy making a sale with Mike Peich. This time it was T206's,
Cy Young (portrait) and the Ty Cobb (bat off). The price for the Cobb card we
initially couldn't quite agree on. So, I walked it over to GAI and paid $5 for
a "preview". I then realized I had overpriced it, so I modified the price when
Mike returned to my booth and he took it.

As usual, I did very well and 90 % of my sales were some 19th Century cards,
lots of T-cards, and some E-type cards.

Only one "walk-in"....a large original (framed) photo of a Babe Ruth with his
caddy at a golf course. A really good-looking picture of the Babe, so it came
home with me.

Hope to see all of you in the Fall, again.

Ted,

Sorry i could not make it. I missed our talk. Also wanted another look at the Cobb.

But soccer is the rule on weekends for awhile at least and i could not find a better way to spend a weekend than watching my 6 and 9 year old running the field.....Well maybe a card show. ( just can't tell the wife that one ,)

Shoot an email to me when time allows.

Ted,
It was nice meeting you, for the first time, and chatting. Thanks also for the great-looking T206 Merkle--can't beat the price. It was the only card I bought at the show, although I did have some cards graded. I almost bought a Cobb bat-on from another dealer, but did not pull the trigger, hoping for a slightly nicer one.
Glad you did well.

I was there on Saturday, but being somewhat of a rookie, I didn't know where your table was -- or who the other n54 board members were.

maybe we get some n54 pins or a hat or t-shirt... would be easier to say hello to someone at a show (just not a "Hello My Name Is"-nametag.
