I know some old Judges have ski slope edges, but i never saw a Goudey with one. Awfully awkward trimming, though. maybe they just mean, this card wasn't cut
very well, and therefore, 40. otherwise, 50.

While a cut like this on a 1934 Goudey is unusual, it is certainly not impossible. I have owned at least a dozen unaltered 1934 Goudeys that have a similar cut. Still, without seeing the card in person and taking a closer look, I cannot give you a definitive answer.
