Default Sporting Life covers with stars

I'm not sure I've ever seen these before. How is that possible, are they that rare?

I’ve had a few in the past, but sold most off. The covers are awesome and display well. Some are run of the mill, but some are off the charts. They can generally be found for a reasonable price and are very underrated to me for their display value. Insides are pretty run of the mill. Biggest thing is that the paper flakes very easy so it’s how well they have held up over the years. They used different cover formats during their years, but these are the most beautiful.

Extremely undervalued and extremely cool to look at. Great group shot you posted Hank. Sporting Life was the SI back in the day.
