I think we will see a "revealation" in the next 3 - 4.4 minutes...or maybe a little longer.

I was 3.6 minutes off and your post is the exact same time as the thread Brian just started. Small world. It will be interesting to watch in auction.

I was thinking more along the lines of "...'til REA takes the money away."
That might be an expensive card.

Maybe we'll just have to wait for our REA catalogues for the big reveal.
I jumped the gun by one day...but I have to admit that I got it wrong.

Seriously? That's a pretty big gamble for the consignor. But if David Hall needs it for his master set, I suppose that it could go over $100,000.

Maybe another find will occur after the sale at REA.

I thought this card was from Uncle Bob's collection ?

REA stated : "One of these expeditions led him to a house where this card was discovered among old advertising signage and papers. We have seen instances of such impressive cards turning up in unlikely places--the Black Swamp and Lucky Seven finds come to mind. We'd love to know the reason this card ended up where it did, but that is lost to time. "

That was required in order for the seller to get $50k in an auction.

I think it was a steal at $60k. An absolute iconic card of an iconic player with an exceedingly rare back. That card is a homerun and will only go up in value. I wish I had an extra $70k+ sitting around - I would have gladly bid every cent of it.

Technically yeah. I had a box of various old programs I had stowed away up in my attic for between 10-15 years. Pulled them out last summer, looked through them and noticed there were cards in a Columbus Clippers program. Looked at them and noticed one was Derek Jeter. Turns out it was a rare Jeter card that had a total population between PSA and BGS of 5. Mine made it 6 and was the 3rd 9 (2 PSA, 1 BGS). Sold it a month or two ago for $1800 cash plus $200 in trade.

Crazy that my wild attic find was my own attic and a card from 1995!
