Default T206/Strawberry Conundrum

I recently picked up a Doc Crandall(with hat) Piedmont 350-460, Factory 25 from a reputable seller...The card has a bizarre partial strawberry advert on the back,,,It appears that the strawberry is in fact printed (and not some kind of sticker/transfer/tattoo) and is quite possibly actually printed under the Piedmont text...
Has anybody seen this strawberry image/text on other American Lithographic Co. cards,,,,,,or elsewhere?

That seems like some sort of ink transfer due to the incompleteness of the strawberry image.

Too bad it isn't Bill Bernhard or "Strawberry Bill".

I'm sure someone with more T206 collecting will chime in.

I'm sure someone is going to find that card. Like a wet transfer from a fruit set or something similar.

This is actually a tattoo. Notice how parts of the image are completely missing - that is because the tattoo has worn off in those areas. If this were printed on the back it would be the complete image. I have several scans of these tattoos on cards, including your card from when I saw it previously. They were fairly thin so you can see the ink on the card underneath in the lighter areas.

Default Strawberry tattoos forever

I agree with Bryan with a "Y". They do look like tattoos. I have a Zeenut for many years with a James Cagney tattoo on back (shown below), and even the latest group of Lections cards on ebay that are discussed in the thread started by Leon has a card with a tattoo applied to the back.

Brian with an "I"

Default Tattoo You

Okay, thanks for the responses....My first presumption was that the markings were a tattoo,,,until I got the card in hand...still appears to me as if the strawberry/text are printed not adhered but my experience with this set and back stampings is limited,at best...

Sweet cards ya'll have posted------that Cagney-back Zeenut is Cray!
