Default OT- Ebay positive outcome

I thought I would post a positive experience with Ebay as a seller involved in a dispute. My first one. The point being that Ebay doesn't automatically side with a buyer, and with my case apparently actually reviewed the case and made an objective decision...quickly.
In mid March I auctioned a non sport related item starting at .99 cents. It was won for $500 or so on a Sunday evening. 5 days later, no payment so I messaged the winner that the item was packaged and ready to ship. I heard nothing so after 7 days I sent another friendly reminder. He messaged back something about Paypal holding his funds and asked if MO would be ok. I told him I didn't care, and would ship immediately after funds received. After 14 days and no payment I messaged him that Id need payment within 48 hrs or I would be filing a nonpayment with Ebay in order to get my fees back. Within an hour he paid via Paypal. I shipped item next day USPS Priority box with tracking and insurance. Delivery was confirmed on March 20th. I heard nothing ( including no feedback) until today ( April 7th) when I got a message from him thru Ebay resolution center stating he had not received the item and could I provide proof of his signature upon delivery. I answered back thru the resolution center that USPS has confirmed to Ebay and PP that package was delivered to his address on March 20th and Im sure Ebay would be reviewing that fact, as well as our previous correspondence. Within 10 minutes I received a message from E bay that they had sided with me, would not allow him to leave feedback and would release the PP funds back to me within 48 hrs.
Victory, yes. More importantly Ebay actually thought thru the case and didn't rubber stamp a Buyers action

Great, now hopefully he doesn't go through Paypal as a SNAD, or file a chargeback.

No, I talked to PP. They've already replaced funds in my account and said no further worries

This is an example of when eBay will almost always side with the seller. Once delivery is shown, it's on the buyer to take it up with the post office fraud department. Most likely, his neighbor snagged it from his door prior to him getting home.

However, if I was the buyer, and you mailed a $500 item without signature confirmation, I would be cheesed too.

It was mailed to a post office box. Insured. Doesn't need added sig confirmation

I've had a couple instances, both sending and receiving, when a package (or key to the corresponding package locker) was thrown in the wrong P.O. box. Presumably the one above, below, or beside the correct box. Luckily the incorrect recipient turned it back in at the counter each time so that it eventually made it to the correct "address" each time. Not saying that's what happened here, but mistakes do happen, even with P.O. boxes.

When a guy gives you the run-around to begin with, like this guy gave the OP, you can almost be assured he's going to try and cause problems at a later date.

It wasn't "misdelivered" or not signed for by the right person. Guy got the package, and now he's being a d*ck because he was threatened with a non-payment strike.

I agree with this 100%. He's hoping eBay lets him off on some technicality b/c there was no signature confirmation on the shipment. That he even tried to pull that move probably means he's gotten away with it before (which may also have figured in eBay's quick decision).

My previous comment was not intended to diminish this feller's douchiness. Kudos on the successful follow-up with eBay.I

I understood that the buyer was trying a scam. The question is "what's his ebay name"

You can't leave negative feedback for buyers.
