Guess it's time to start a new one.

My Indians are almost complete, so it is time to embark ont he player set. The only criterion for grade is that the card cannot have a crease thru the face adn the name must be readable. Back damage, paper loss and other things are acceptable. The cheaper the better

I'm going to be putting some of my SGC graded N43s on eBay this weekend including an SGC 50 James Ryan (has one little corner crease but nice looking and clean).
Did anyone catch the prices of the graded N162 non baseball cards last night? I think I'll also be putting some of my graded dupes on too.

I'm new to this board and hoping other members can provide me some direction in my quest to complete my collection of vintage cards of Jewish major leaguers. In that regard, any information that could help me locate the following cards would be most appreciated. I am familiar with ebay, of course, but not other websites or individual dealers who might be helpful in this effort. Many thanks.

Phil Weintraub 1937 Four-on-One Exhibit [Curiously, Beckett's alphabetical list shows a 1936 World Wide Gum card of Weintraub -- # 135. The 2003 Standard Catalog, however, shows this set to comprise 134 cards with no Weintraub. Can anyone help reconcile this?]

I just went throught he few baseball cards I own and have some duplicates that I am willing to sell or trade. They range from fair to VG.

I will accept almost any cards in trade as long as I need them for my player set. Only criteria I have for condition is no heavy crease thru the face (creases elsewhere are fine) and the name must be legible. Paper loss or writing on the back is acceptable.

I only have 46 different players so far, so chances are any thing you offer me will be needed. The more cards you offer the better

Here is what I have:

e90-1 Gibson G multiple creases
e92 Dockmans Doyle G-VG couple light creases pencil writing on the back
e92 Dockmans Doolan VG- couple light creases
e93 Jennings G couple of heavy creases several lighter ones
e95 Doyle P-F heavy corner wear, coupole light creases, TAM written on front
e102 Miller VG on crease

Scans should be avail by this weekend.

I am looking for cards form any set issued between 1908-1941, so I don't neccessarily want t or e-cards in trade. Goudey's Zeenuts and anything else are fine

As always I would like to trade for Old Judge poses that I need. I also have a strong interest in any Old Judge ad pieces, including those with no tie to baseball. I am looking for a copy of Baseball Cards written by Kieth Miller and Roger Erbe in 1980. If anyone has one they want to sell, or even borrow to me for a short time, I would greatly appreciate it since this book would make my task of compiling the player set card list much, much easier.

Two ideas:
1. Beckett has a more recent book that provides the same info you seek (but updated to include whatever knowledge has been gained in the past several years) that you can find new; or
2. If you want the old, out of print book try Half.com (accessable by Ebay), B&N or Amazon. Used old books like that are generally pretty cheap.

Jack Bloomfield, Mike Brownstein (no U.S,. pro experience), Richie Scheinbloom, Micah Franklin (black Jewish).

Except for the one named as having no U.S. pro experience, I assume all these guys had SOME pro U.S. experience before going to Japan.

Thought I'd post here before I look to feature this gem elsewhere. I am considering running it in the Feb Mastro auction.

The card is a T206, Mordecai Brown, and it's the "Chicago on shirt" variation.

Back is Broadleaf 460 series.

Condition is EX-MT with no creasing. Only light touches to corners. Back is impeccable.

I submitted it to SGC to see what they feel it grades. If I agree, I'll keep it holdered. If not, well - you know the ritual.

I am convinced the card is an 80 or better. It is an absolutely gorgeous example.

Not sure what I will let this go for, so, for now - I am willing to entertain serious offers on it. I would be happy to provide a scan of the card to you once I have it back from SGC - in about one week.

I put up on ebay a group of E97 and E102 cards . All graded by SGC. I had to put them in the new pre-1930 section so you won't see them if you are using a bookmark that takes you to the old section "Pre-1950 Graded" or #16269.

that gives anything but the most cursory mention to the Wrights, Harry and George. Since a card with them on it (gee, I already have a woodcut) is coming to live at my house, I would like to greet them better informed.

I know the NAMES of some: Church's Base Ball, 1845-1881; Base Ball 1841-1871. I have the Spaulding book out of the library, but it's mainly just an outline around then.

So What? And where can I get?

I was trying to find a '49 Bowman Paige, and all the dealers I called said "very tough card" until I called him. he called me back from a show and said he had 7 in his hand, and the best one...good grief!

The page ad in SCD doesn't really tell the story. He tries to keep Moe Bergs in stock, so--although I got my Greenbergs from Charles M. Conlon--he probably has them, too.

I recently put a T206 Christy Mathewson on e-bay please see the below link or item number if I did not transfer the link correctly.

The card has a Sweet Cap 150 back with Factory 649 district 1 back with the red bar below. I was looking on the T206 Museum site and it stated that the back was pretty tought. I am curious if anyone knows exactly how tough it is? Is it harder than Piedmount Factory 42?

Additionally, I recently acquired about 30 T205s all are graded by SGC and are 5 or 5.5 many are very tough cards. Please feel free to e-mail me your want lists and I will be more than happy to offer them up to the readers of the board 1st.
