Default old timers using green sharpie?

ive notice a few autographs on ebay of some older players that are signed in what looks like green sharpie. is there a reason why older players used green sharpie? does green sharpie signed items fade quicker than regular sharpie? . i ask because i have noticed more signed green sharpie items lately. thanks

I'm assuming your seeing signatures of ball players that were signed in the 1960s - 1980s before the advent of card shows and paid signings , most if these are primarily TTM autographs . At that time players signed with whatever they had available to use. Most players at that time used Flair felt tip pens of any color they had around and Frank Frisch used probably the most varied color scheme of ink available . In fact Frisch signed many flats , especially 3x5s with the old Marks A Lot thick angled flat ink markers in a wide array of colors.
So the green ink your seeing probably isn't a Sharpie or unusual unless the autographs are forgeries, but the ink color won't make them forgeries.

yes! exactly, most of what i see are from the 1960-1970's. i just never saw green signed items before, so it struck me as odd, but it makes sense what you said. thank you so much for your help. i appreciate it.
