This card was purchased by the seller from Mastronet a few years back. Also, the T3 Cobb they sold (purchased from Lipset) has been completed and the buyer has left positive feedback. I have conversed with the seller and feel the card is legit (unless Mastronet sold them a reprint). I will be able to tell for certain as soon as the card arrives. They do offer a 7 day money back guarantee. I only wish they would have had larger scans. From what little I could tell from the small scans, the card definitely looks like a legit Type 2 Red Cross Cobb! I will keep you updated when the card arrives.

If the Red Cross turns out to be legit.....that means I'll just have to sit on Ebay more often and continue to hit refresh to see what new pre-1930s cards have popped up on reasonable BINs!

Regardless I'm still not going to do the $1000 BIN or $750 opening bid on T206 Cobb they're offering. Sorry, the card is not VG

The Red Cross is nowhere near a 4 or 5 like they stated. I believe this person is an "old timer". I say this by his grading standards and the fact he has purchased some nice cards from major auctions in years past. I believe the T215 Cobb will either grade an SGC 10 or 20 at the highest. I am going to get the money order out tomorrow, and should have the card early next week at the latest - I will keep you posted!

5 minutes ago it was an E90-1 Crawford PSA 5, just sold for $456 and my bid was 452 So if you have one in say PSA 5 or SGC 60 condition, lets talk!

uh, I do believe it sold for $556, and you were 4th in the bidding at $442, not counting the people whose bids didn't get recorded. Are you sure this was #1 on your want list?

456, 442....still lost by a few dollars. It was on my watch list all week, decided at the last moment that the card was reasonably priced and for 60 seconds it did become my #1 wanted card. It is a nice looking card, not so much my #1 now, but still nice all the same

Brian, for the second time $556, not $446, you lost by a bit over $100, not a few dollars.

#1 on mine ( to complete a second set )...

1951 Topps Red Backs Gus Zernial Chicago var.

Sounds easy, but it isn't. Found a $6 one in horrible condition but just got it to fill the first set. (so i really need 2 of them)

2 players are missing that were on the team in 1894. Keeler and Clarke. I made these 2 in my reprint set. Only 14 came to auction in 1992 and I have those 14. I suspect the original consigner may have kept 1 or both back. Just a hunch but I would think all 16 were created at one time. The 2 lost souls may not still exist I am sorry to say. dan.

I was under the impression that Frisch owned the Thorpe TinTop. I believe he made a set of "legendary" cards for his Baseball Card Museum that was in Cooperstown, and I thought that a picture of the Thorpe TinTop was in that set.

I'd love to see the scan of the THorpe. I'm just glad I never have any intention of working on a Tin Top set. Between the Thorpe and the Jax, you have no chance what so ever to complete the set.

I would actually like to continue to collect e107's. For some reason, the two I have are my favorite cards in my collection.

This thread is great because no two answers are alike!

Since I was born and raised in Kalamazoo, so I think my next #1 for my type card collection has to be an affordable Kalamazoo Bat card. Is there such a thing? I am willing to take any player, lower condition, fatal flaw such as minor trim, writing on the back, pin hole are all OK.

Then, in honor of my new home, I would have to say #2 is a Texas Tommy, again with the same high standards mentioned above.

I've really been getting much deeper into pre-war lately, almost exclusively. So i have many more wants these days, prices are putting a damper on that...

Anywho...It's still those pesky D381 Fleischmanns i need, Ty Cobb in particular, any grade i can find

Well the lesson here is that good thread topics are well received no matter how old. So in the spirit of this one...#1 on my list would be 1914 CJ Mathewson.

17 years and I still haven't picked up the 1918 Zeenuts Lefty O'Doul. May not be in the cards for me, so to speak. But I did get one that I like every bit as much, so it all worked out.

1949 Sommer & Kaufmann card signed by Lefty. A tough set to find at all, PSA has graded no Lefty cards from either S&K issue. I suspect this signed specimen is the only one in the world.

478. “Loose lips sink flips.”
The time honored maxim that it is best not to be too forthcoming in letting people know what hard-to-find cards you’re actively pursuing, because anyone having one of those cards will know they now have you over a barrel.
