Default I had posted this in the July incoming....

But guess I should add it here too....

PSA/SGC combined is 19... but if you separate blank back vs score card back the pop will be lower...

Don't think you'll find an earlier Walter Johnson autograph than this one from 1908:

Incredible Matty!!! I owned that same SGC 4 for a little less than a year and only sold it to buy some incredible Ruth cards. I replaced that Matty with a PSA 4 W600 Street Clothes Type 2 Matty rookie that was released January 1903, actually predating the E107 by about 5/6 months. Enjoy the Young & Matty...they are both world class cards!!!!

Sincerely,
Joe

Joe, thanks much and thanks for selling it. Keep me in mind if you get tired of the W600 Matty.

Jay, in awe of that collection. I can only begin to imagine the time and effort that must take.

Here are a few pretty difficult combos for Matty, Cy and the Big Train. They Young in particular is one I have seen very few of over the years.

Jay, that Johnson portrait with an Old Mill back ... wow! That is a combination that is notoriously difficult to find and yours is very lovely. Congrats!

Awesome cards everyone. Thank you for sharing!

Derek

Jay, I'm sure I can look this up, but it's easier to ask you - is that the complete run?

Awesome either way.

Thanks all for the kind words. Yes that is all of the possible combinations. As Derek mentioned the Old Mill is by far the toughest.

Steven, that’s quite a compliment coming from you - with all the heat you’ve been posting lately. Took about 16 months from the start of the project when I had 2, to completion last month when I found the Old Mill. I have 14/19 on pitching, but there are a few roadblocks there

I’m close on the Young Portrait as well. But this is a MUCH easier run to complete.

Jay, you back runs are simply mesmerizing! Looking forward to seeing your WaJo pitching-pose back run, even though not complete - 14/19 ain't too shabby!

That’s 16 months of patience I can’t seem to find. I start on a path...and then another...and then something else and before I know it I have a mishmash of a little bit of everything. When it all comes together like yours it’s pretty damn nice though. Congrats on it!

Just to add a little more color....

I think just 6 or so combined PSA/SGC for this W-UNC

And only 5 or so of the Turkey red ad version on the SGC report, don't think PSA grades these...

It's definitely not a straight path for me. This was just the run I knew I was working on in the back of my head.

I think green Cobb up next!

Jay, let me help you with a couple of holes on that WaJo pitching run of yours. You’re a lot closer to finishing than I’ll ever be.

Jake Arrieta had a historic 2016 World Series, but Mordecai Brown is still the most important pitcher in Cubs history. https://baseballhall.org/hall-of-famers/brown-mordecai

Just in from REA.
Might as well add another Walter M101-6. I love damage on blank backs on otherwise great looking cards.
