Default Mail Day!

Once again dipping my toes into pre-war cards.
Very excited to pick up Smoky Joe's RC.

I kind of like the little caricature; perhaps I will attempt to get some more of these...

Wow Steven, that is a total mic drop. I wish you had a Flickr account or something where you could share your collection digitally- it’s gotta be something else.

Rob those are two good looking t206s. Congrats

Thanks everyone. But believe me I have plenty of clunkers too. At some point I’ll put an online account together, for now I just have scans of everything.

Nice e91c and sharp T207, y'all.

Here's a few cards that came this week. Mostly lesser grade, htf combos and a sharp looking 1950 Bowman...

Thanks, DJ, I got it for a back-run type. I hope you already have one, if not I can trade you this one.

I appreciate the offer. I do already have a raw one that I got from another board member a few years ago. Good luck on your back run!.

Steven RIDICULOUS cards. Congrats they are amazing.

This isn’t new but crossed from a GAI holder. Bought it raw years ago at a Philly show and had it graded on site when they used to do that sort of thing. I just think it’s the perfect baseball card.......

In my opinion, that 1952 Bowman Musial pose is right there behind the 1953 Bowman Reese as one of the best and most iconic card images.

(Edited to add - the Horner image of Honus Wagner on the t206 is the clear number 1).

No question. Of course its drawbacks are no rookies and no Mays, Williams or Jackie.

That is the problem with all the 50s Bowman and Topps sets. 1952 Topps lacked the 2 best players in the game at the time, Williams and Musial. The only set to get all the stars was 1958, if you count the All Star card for Musial.

A few N338-1s. I had resolved not to start new collecting areas, but the prices were too low to ignore:

Anthony! Hey man. I still window shop and man Jay just parked a Bugatti in the front showroom floor! I had to comment as I have always loved the early California cards as I am a SoCal guy through and through as you know. I hope you are doing good.

Jay! All is good just trying to hit life's curve balls and as it turns out it's hard to hit a curve. I would love to hear the story about this group of cards. How many California league cards do you have now? What a set by the way. I hope you are doing good as well!

I haven't run across one of these. Interesting item. The engraving says "Doug Miller". I can't find a Doug Miller who was associated with the Braves.

Great pick up on the Herzog - no B. That is the first one that I have seen come up for sale. I was hoping it would fly under the radar and I thought I had put it a decent bid, but it jumped up by an additional $350 in the last few seconds. That is a nice addition to your Type 2 set. Congrats!

Thanks, Rick. I agree T213-2 Herzog is difficult, but I saw 2 for sale recently. Mine is from a trade for a card that was originally on the bst. Sterling had another that I had an early low bid in. Hope you find one soon toward the set. Rob

Here are a few recent ones...

Picked these up a little while back but finally got around to scanning them. Of course my typical grade and condition but I love 'em anyway. Slowly chipping away at this set.

Sorry for the big scans, I don't know how to shrink them yet.

I just picked up these beauties, from the Japanese JGA 38 set issued in 1952.

These are the rarest cards I've ever owned, according to the 2018 Engel guide less than five examples of each card are known to exist.

No Hall of Famers in the bunch but I'm pretty happy to have them.

What separates that autograph from a 10? I agree with Ryan; it looks perfect.
