Default Buenos aires photo agency

Saw this photo and the seller is saying its a Type 1 from a buenos aires news agency. Have my doubts but wanted to know if anyone has seen one like this before. Never seen that border style either. Back says :foto maubach sagmiento 361 buenos aires

I have type 1 photos that are stamped in different Countries, so that is not unusual. I agree that something about the photo doesn't look right.

Buenos Aires photographer or news agency? I will say that I have seen that type of border in family photo albums and in different types of snapshots stamped by photographers but I have NEVER seen a news photograph with an ornate border cut like that.

It may be a private photographer's work from a news archive. In France newspapers used photos from private photographers who would cut the borders ornately. Here is a photo of Kid Francis, a boxer who was murdered at Auschwitz during WWII, taken by a private photographer that ended up in the archive of a French newspaper:

And another one of promoter Philippe Roth:

I'm not saying the Ruth is genuine, just that the border may not explain what it is.

Thanks adam. That looks very similar. Never seen photos with a ornate border like that. Appreciate it

Did some more research and found that "maubach" is actually William Guillermo Maubach who was a well known photographer up until the late 40's.
