Default T206 PSA 10 Gem Mint?

was looking through the Heritage T206 "mint" auction, and i examined the cards that are graded Gem Mint 10. i don't get this. if you are going to distinguish between the NM-MT 8's of the world, which look pretty perfect to me, from a 10, then the 10 should just have no flaws at all. but one, Germany Schaeffer, is about 70/30 l/r on the front, and another Kaiser wilhelm, is about 95/5 on the back with and 70/30 T/B on the front. many of the 8's and 9's look superior. is this an old PSA/new PSA issue? what gives?

Paul

It's a human error issue.

Exact reason why you buy the card, not the flip (unless it’s all about the registry, and I don’t give a damn about registries).

Again, if someone wants to call PSA's bluff, they could submit these for review with no minimum grade and make 90% of the auction prices back, keep the cards at lower grades. #psagradeguarantee

I agree with the OP....Some very suspicious looking grades, very suspicious...Yes, it's PSA, and it's a shame, but it is what it is.... I have always wondered about clout between the submitter and the grader whose bread was maybe being buttered (just saying potentially). Come on guys, you've wondered about it as well! It is so subjective anyway, right? While most of these cards are fantastic, some don't even make sense on where they are holdered....There are a couple of 10's that aren't even centered well for a solid grade of 8, let alone a 10. Wilhelm and Schaeffer(look at the corners from the back, especially upper left on Schaeffer) as 10's make absolutely no sense at all.....There is also a high profile 9 with a tougher back that is centered about 75/25 or worse on the front......The Elberfeld Port., Wash., PSA 8, also has two very weak corners especially for such a high profile card...Now, having said that, the red and green Cobbs in 8's look fantastic.....
