Default Hey guys....how often does this phenomena happen to you ?

After searching for quite a number of years for a 1910 COUPON of Ted Breitenstein to complete my T206 Southern Leaguer "C-H-O-P" sub-set......I acquired
this card a month ago. Then recently at the Oaks Philly show, another 1910 COUPON Ted Breitenstein card "walked-in". Needless to say, I purchased it, too.

How often has this phenomena happened to you....in your long-term quest for a particularly rare card ?

I'd say this occurs more often than the law of probability would suggest. So, tell us of your similar story(s) in this regard.

And, most interestingly......HOW DO IT KNOW ? ?

Default Ted

I've benefited from a couple of finds that others on our board have been fortunate to be key players in.I guess my phenomenon would be that I found their find!!! I had been looking for a T206 ritchey dove(after our discussion of that theme on this board many moons ago)
with the dove presenting with obvious clarity and was able to get one from
Steve when he handled the NY Bean Find. I also had been looking for a Paskert T3 in excellent condition for quite a while to frame alongside my
Conlon Type 1 Paskert which is the basis for the card and was fortunate to benefit from Craig's S.C. T3 find and secure one. In fact, Craig has placed my conlon photograph on his website dedicated to T3s and their sources, i'm mighty proud to say.
wishing you and Charlotte a very happy thanksgiving, ole friend

Default Mike Powers T206

I had been looking for a Mike Powers SGC 40 for probably 3-4 months; not a really tough card in the grand scheme, but one that I wanted to get at a fair price. On September 8 I picked up a raw Powers that iggy-man had in a lot on eBay. I figured it had a good shot at getting a 40 and the price on the lot was right. Exactly two days later I bought an SGC40 from Edwolf1963 on the BST.

"How do it know?"

Default Go figure!

It took me many years to have the oportunity to acquire a 1953 Glendale (I know not prewar) Houtteman........finally got one. I always figured that there were only about 10 of them around. Right now there are 4 of them listed on ebay.....go figure. Aloha, Dave.

The last card for my 649 subset was the elusive Bransfield, months of searching to no avail. Then Bill Brown offered his up in a trade to complete my set, at that point I would take any grade. Within a month I had found 3 more, one a decent upgrade and was able to return Bills back to him. Odd how some cards just show up in groups.

I was looking for a t213-3 byrne for over 1 yr...when 2 of them appeared on ebay...and after aquiring mine...there has been atleast 1 on ebay ever since.

Additionally I was seeking an E94 Grant for a little while...and while trying to negotiate a fair price for one that was "hidden" on ebay...another popped up the same day...I bought both...in case the deal fell through!

Default W573 Leader Theater

I looked for a W573 type of Leader Theater for a few years. I had seen about 2 in total previously but hadn't nabbed one. I ended up getting 2 of them at the recent Oaks show. The other one I had got sold at the same show. Thanks Dan, Val and Ken for all of those buys and sells. This Goslin Leader Theater is signed too...not that I really cared about that, to be honest. (apologies for the other W573 scans)
