Cobb (red 4) and the e-95 wagner. I had bids on a bunch of others like the lot of 60 but ended up concentrating on picking up some of the unopened.

I have a real weakness for buying those older packs to crack. Hey like i tell my wife it's no different than buying those scratch off lottery tickets she likes so much. Except much more fun.

The one thing i lost out on was the 57 card vending machine.....THAT looked neat as hell.

Almost forgot, i also won the Young/Matty T cards.

What did you win ?

What the hell is up with CSA.... maybe i just don't read properly ...but actually it is pretty vague .... the whole auction went into overtime for like 2 hours...didn't end until 3am EST...that's not good business.

CSA will keep extending the auction if someone bids in the last 8 minutes or so. I got a little frustrated with that during their last auction. Even though I'm on the West Coast, I feel for you guys who can't stay up to babysit your auctions.

I don't know if it's bad business but it certainly squeezes out every dime possible

REA did and does the same thing...I don't recall what 19C does. I do like how Mastro changed their auction to the individual closing of lots.

I didn't read the CSA rules until yesterday and had to read them 2-3X to ensure I understood. It was like you had "overtime" with the VIP bidding from 6-11pm and then "double overtime" after 11 pm as the clock continually reset with each new bid. I went to bed at midnight (EST) wondering if I'd be a winner in the morning.

On the Johnson Oxford card? $750 - someone must have wanted that card worse than me.

I am very interested in this card. If someone wins this lot and is willing to part with the card, please let me know. Thank you kindly.

Got shut out (as usual).

There were a couple of decent buys on the Old Judge front (none that I wanted unfortunately), but the Radbourn, the Kilroy and the Holbert were surpisingly strong.

Kevin, we were probably looking at a lot of the same material.

That Kilroy N172 went for over $900 with the juice. Yikes. I can't believe that the Radbourn went for over $2K with juice when there is a much better card available (2 grades better and with much better clarity) in our BST... must be the person who got the Radbourn doesn't know about our little haven...

Wheaties Gehrig. I am suprised there was not more interest in this. I think i remember the last one on ebay going for more than the closing price on this one.

I won the Cobby red background, the '17 Zeenut w/coupon (1 more down), and the W572 strips......I think strip cards are very undervalued....

Picked up the lot of 10 scarce backs. Looks like the ungraded ones are trimmed, but oh well. Probably overpaid for the lot, but I put my high bid in, thinking I would get outbid and didn't, so all's well that ends well.

Edited to fix grammar.

I think alot of the lots went very low. For example i never expected my bid on the red cobb 4 to win or a bid of 180.00 on a 1950 campy in an 8 to be top dog. That was really just a spur of the moment bid as i really don't collect the 1950 set or Campy stuff. Oh well i should flip it for a profit on ebay.

By the way does anyone know what the e-95 wagner is currently selling for. That is another i really didn't figure on winning but did. I have wanted this card for awhile and through a bid down. Did i over pay ? Final on that was 700. if memory serve's me correctly.

Let me say that "Huggins & Scott" are one of the most honest, reputable auction houses in the hobby. I agree with the Scott in the previous post that some of the lots went lower than they should have. I think one reason is because this is only their 3rd "national" auction with a catalog & web site. They don't have the massive mailing list that the other auction houses have... I always tease Josh that they need to get a big auction house's mailing list.

Alan- Actually Huggins and Scott aren't consignors- the people who gave them material are the consignors. They are the auction house.

My apologies - I corrected it. I meant auction houses. I was thinking about the consignors.....

The emails I received regarding lots bid on and lots outbid on all ended up in my spam box for some reason. Also, the one thing that struck me was that they didn't send out emails throughout and in the final days of the auction. They can be annoying at times but they do remind some of the more casual bidders when the auction ends. Some of us need to be beat over the head more often with this information than others. I was really only interested in the Yuenglings Ruth and the Oxford Johnson, both of which met or exceeded what I was willing to pay.

I thought the catalog was well done. If you look at the collage on the interior front and back covers you will see my T216 VE sliding card that I'm about to not lose in the football pool.

I didn't get a chance to bid on any of the lots , but there was a lot of cool stuff in there. I especially thought yhe n172 dugdale and piedmont art stamps were nice lots.

I thought bowlershoeguy would be all over the stamps, so I didn't bother. I thought he was the 'vendomecat' of piedmont stamps.

The Ruth of the Johnson were the only two cards that I were bidding on as well. I won the Ruth but got beat out in the end on the Johnson.
