Default My First Card Show Interview

Hey everyone! Recently I attended a card show in search of t206s and was pleasantly surprised by a nice little interview by the local press. It was great that one of the writers from the paper decided to attend the show and write an article focused on baseball cards and sports memorabilia. I was asked why, at the age of only 15, am I involved in vintage cards (t206s) rather than the new, modern cards. I explained to him that I enjoy learning about the players on these cards, understanding how baseball and life was so much different back in the early 1900's. I continued by saying that t206s are unique, and on top of that, nowhere near perfect. That each card tells a story, printed a certain way with deformities of its own. I added that there are various backs, each having different values. He commented, along with every other dealer at the show, that he was impressed with me being into these vintage cards. I included during the conversation that Net54 was a forum that I joined over the summer which allowed me to gain even more knowledge about these t206s and other cards. That it is a great environment were collectors can discuss cards, baseball, buy, sell, trade, etc. The interview was finished with the photographer snapping some pictures of me and my new acquisitions, a t206 John Titus and a t206 J.F. Kiernan (Sold!). It was a great experience for myself, and I was very excited to see that the topic of baseball cards and sports memorabilia was covered by the local press.
