Default Anyone know about this Walter Johnson card?

What is this and any ideas about value? It is about 2 x 2 1/2.
Thanks.

I believe its a W560 strip card. Card would have been issued in 1927. In terms of value, I would guess $100-$150.

Here's a Walter Johnson w560 on Ebay that looks like it's in similar shape to yours....

It appears yours has oversized borders though. I think that actually might cause a grading company to deem it not meeting the appropriate measurements of cards from that set so it might be placed in an AUT holder.

I'm not saying that the Johnson is a reprint... But beware, these cards were reprinted... I would have to check one of my Grove reprints, but I believe that the word "Reprint" appears on the middle, bottom of the back... If there is paper loss in the vicinity of the middle, bottom of the back, then there is a good chance that it's a reprint....

there is slight paper loss in upper right corner, not in the middle.

Default Krause

The Standard Catalog shows $45 in VG, $75 in EX, and $150 in NM. Hope this helps.

Illuminate it with black light if you're in doubt; the originals won't fluoresce, the reprints will.

Yours is authentic.

Also the reprints the photo isnt quite as sharp (more shadows in face area), the background tends to be darker. On the Johnson the hat and background blend too much, same with the red Ruth.
