Default SGC overgrade?

Posted By: jay behrens

As most of us know, SGC can be pretty brutal when it comes to grading vintage cards but did they actually over grade this card? From what I can tell the back has staining and front seems to have a significant stain too.

It looks like he or she saved the scan in the wrong format, creating a grainy appearance that looks like a stain. I've done this a couple of times. Or, the seller may have tried to enhance the scan and created a grainy result. I've done this too.

What I'm seeing is brown staining in the upper left on the front, and general staining on the back. I don't think that is a scanner artifact, but it is possible that the scanner shows up stains better than you'd see them with some kinds of light.
