Wow is that a good looking 2. Nevermind the rounded corners - the centering and surface is beautiful. Good color, too. Congrats!

Thanks guys I really like the art work on the cards in that set. They sure don't make em like they used to. Lots of great pickups so far this month. Love the Cobb Orlando.

Default Great silver lining

I had hoped to land the LOTG beauty on Saturday, but I came up short. I did, however, manage to track this one example down on Sunday, and it arrived today!

It's not pretty as the other one, but it looks better in hand than the scan gives it credit for.

Wow...beautiful! I would have been shaking and I seen that. He coached football at my alma mater (West Virginia) and I'm looking to add one of these to my collection at some point.

Jon, great cards. Absolutely love them both. Mine are no where near as nice. Steve, that is a Wagner to be proud of, I only wish I could have one.

Jon: I am the previous owner of your D304 Cobb. It resided happily in my set for the past eight or nine years. I had a second one, an "Authentic" that presents as pristine, so decided to let Al have a go with the SGC20. Don't remember what I paid for it but I think it did pretty well. You did just fine; I don't think D304 Cobbies will ever diminish in desirability or value. Good luck with the rest of your set. Some beautiful cards to be had. Tenney was the big toughie for me and Young wasn't easy either.

Great cards everyone.

Here is a fringe item for me, an imperial cabinet (13" x 7 1/2") of actress Helen Dauvray, commissioner of the first World Championship trophy (the Dauvray Cup) that was first awarded to Detroit Wolverines in 1887. For a short time Helen was also the wife of HOFer John Ward.

Just picked up my first McGraw earlier today. Not as impressive as some of the killer cards in this thread but I was happy to pick up a legendary HOFer and my 71st card towards the T206 set which I'm hoping to complete in the not so distant future.

(Sorry for the smudgy holder, needs to be cleaned)

Just got these two this week. Bought the Newt Randall with Ebay bucks because I just found out he grew up and is buried in Duluth MN which is very close to where I live. Just think it is cool to have a T206 player in my local area.

Nice pickup Adam, I saw that as well and was considering it until I realized what I spent in LOTG and what's coming up.

I've been wanting the Keefe for a long time and I was finally able to get a nice copy

I'm starting the T205 NY Giants team set. Please let me know if you have any SGC graded in the 3-5ish range.

Maxjacks: Very nice N162 and T205. I'm a Giants fan from Polo Grounds days. Some of the wags around here will say that I saw Keefe and Raymond play but it's fake truth. I collected the NYG T205s a few years back, a fun little project. [I did not collect them from cigaret packs; bought most of them off eBay]. Default 1887

My recent pickups have an 1887 focus. It was the year Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde was first performed on stage. It starred Richard Mansfield, who is featured on the tobacco card, cigar box and creepy framed photograph. This was also the year that Detroit won its first ever baseball championship and the year of the Tobin lithograph of Dan Brouthers. I'd say the Brouthers card is one of the most amusing cards, 19th Century or otherwise, that I've ever seen. The Mansfield inscription reads: "Your sight shall be blasted by a prodigy to stagger your unbelief of Satan."

Patrick, its good to see you finally landed a Thoss to complete the subset. A beauty at that. When I saw it in LOTG I hoped you would land it. I for one am looking forward to seeing the group all together!

Actually just saw the link and that is a very fine looking group. Congrats.
