Reached the halfway point in my mini-project. Collecting all 14 known Pirates with EPDG backs. Got these two just now in the mail from two different people. I know the Camnitz was only recently confirmed, so I figured I better buy that one despite the writing.

Awesome, John - very tough card!

That "over head" Camnitz wasn't confirmed when I stopped working on the Pirates back in 2012, as far as I know. At that time, I believed there were 15 confirmed, with only Willis, Abstein, and that Camnitz being no-shows. I did not have an image of a couple, and Clarke (fielding) was a bit of a mystery, but I thought it had been confirmed by someone (I do not have the records).

This one would bump it to at least 15 known, 16 if Clarke (fldg) is actually confirmed.

Either way, there are some tough ones in the list, but you've knocked off a big one - congrats!

I am going by T206Resource. Their checklist has 14 confirmed and it was 13 when I first put the list together, then someone found the Camnitz, so I added it. I actually decided to try for them all a year or so before I started, so that's why I only have seven now.

I got a couple nice ones in a trade(see pic below) and then decided to go for the rest. I do check their list from time to time for updates just in case. Message me if you find the checklist that says more than 14 are available so we don't clutter the May pickup thread. Thanks.

BTW, I have Gibson, Miller, Clarke/port, Maddox, Wilson, Camnitz arms folded and above head. Phillippe seems very easy, so I've passed on a few nicer ones, looking for VG range

Mainly bought this because it relates to local baseball history. (Cad Coles played for the Kansas City Packers in 1914.)

Default An Unusual Addition

An unusual addition to my collection; wasn’t sure if I should post here or on memorabilia side. It is an antique chest that based on patents and contents within likely dates from somewhere between 1873 and 1888. I purchased it from a dealer who specializes in antique trunks and he indicated he purchased it from Detroit.

What makes it interesting is how it was decorated with some 1888 Detroit Wolverine Scrapps (or more correctly, H. D. Smith & Co Baseball Gum Die-Cuts). The seller restored the chest but left all the original décor within untouched.

The Scrapps include Bennett, Brouthers, Getzien, Dunlap/Hanlon, Richardson, and Thompson. It appears that the original/early owner initially included Dunlap in the collection but opted to place Hanlon’s head and name over him. Reasons for the update may be linked to Dunlap’s move to Pittsburgh for the 1888 season while all the others remained with Detroit. The Scrapps are not in particularly great shape but that doesn't matter to me and will remain as they are as long as the trunk is in my care.

Default Set of Billy Williams Cards as gift for my son

Spent the last month or so putting together this set of Billy Williams cards in EX-NM condition for my son as a gift. Still short a couple of cards that I just have not been able to find well centered yet. I would like to thank the numerous Net54 members that sold or traded me cards to put this set together!

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
