Default Early NY Giants Ticket

I recently picked up an early NY Giants Polo Ground ticket. It's not dated, but the signature is that of Fred Knowles. He was the secretary/treasurer from at least 1901 - maybe earlier - to 1909. He get sick with TB and left the team in 1910, and died in 1911 or 1912. It appears to be a regular season 75c ticket for seat E 21. It doesn't say anything about the 1905 World Series on it. The back is blank. Can anyone help me nail down just what year this ticket is from? Is there a site that might show pictures of tickets from this era? A buddy of mine recently sold an ungraded, damaged c1905 Yankees ticket on ebay for $1,000, so I'm seriously considering offering mine. Should I just list it on Ebay and see what happens, or should I send it off to be authenticated and graded?

Hi,

I picked up an early Giants ticket (1910s or so, but I am not 100% sure of the date) for about $200 a few years back. Not sure if this is an indication of the value of your ticket, but I wanted to supply you with a data point. I am not a Giants collector, I just like the way the ticket looked - important for my next point.....

As for the early Yankees ticket on eBay, I pushed that price up real hard - I left a huge snipe, someone just happened to want it more. When two people want something badly enough, you can normally throw "normal" pricing info out the window. So be careful using the Highlanders ticket data point as a price reference for your ticket - as far as I can tell, myself and the ultimate winner of the ticket were the only folks "in it" at the end, and I would not be in the mix for your ticket - which isn't to say that some other folks wouldn't be.

Thanks for the input. I'm aware that Yankees items bring a premium, but I wasn't sure how much.

Please post a picture of both the front and the back of the ticket and I can give you a year within 2 years. Sight unseen, I would suspect that the ticket originates from about 1910 because of the ticket price 75 cents. Value will depend on year, condition, etc. FYI

This Giants ticket is from circa 1904-1906. Approx. value = $250- $400
Here is mine from the circa 1901-1903. Note that the ticket price is 50 cents on mine.

The 2 threads about the ticket are now merged so the sequence of posts might be out of order, apologies for that. It was enough to merge them but they are better together.
