Default Value of old Postcard?

Posted By: Neal

I picked up this old Red Sox postcard a few years back and any help on determining value on it. It is postmarked on backside.

Thank you!

Is babe ruth represented? If not I'd speculate it's worth 40-60...or maybe a bit less.

I have seen an example of that postcard that was postmarked BEFORE Ruth joined the club. It was on ebay a year or so ago. This obviously precludes any chance that it is Ruth in the postcard.

This postcard appears with some regularity and typcially sells around $50.

My favorite PC. This image was also published by Mason Brothers from Dorchester, Mass. I believe the image predates 1915 and I doubt it is Ruth (until I go to sell of course) but the batters' closed stance is interesting.

Two from Mason. Note the differing cloud patterns on all three examples.
