Default Cuban help

Posted By: Tim Mayer

Not cards, but could use some help.

Have an opportunity to buy a cuban jersey from the 30's. The number is 30, and it is grey pinstriped with orange letters. Are these collectible? Any idea on a rough worth. The team name was Los something, will update when my brain clears up.

Curious if this is a good pick up.

Default Cuban help

Posted By: Ryan Christoff

Tim,

It is most likely a jersey from a Cuban sugar mill team, which was the Cuban equivalent of the many local semi-pro teams in U.S. during the same time period. It definitely has some value, but only a fraction of a professional team jersey. Again, probably the same monetary difference of an American semi-pro jersey compared to a Major League jersey.

If you are looking to sell, there is a MAJOR collector of Cuban jerseys in Florida that has a museum-quality collection and would probably be your best bet for a prospective buyer. I might be able to put you in touch with him if you e-mail me privately.

Good luck,

-Ryan
